Aww you found my shark shifter!

Seriously though, I’m with you. I don’t like the painful drawn out shifts, I prefer the instant changes.

Lately I have been all about Gargoyle romances!

A shark shifter and a mermaid??? Oh, Shelly, I am so here for this! 😁🐋🧜‍♀️

Yeah, I just remembered feeling tortured, watching the Vampire Diaries shifts. Poor werewolves! Yikes

OMGosh! Did you read Miri’s flash fiction with the gargoyles? It was really good. I think it was a couple posts back, here on Substack.

That maybe what got me looking for gargoyle books. 🤭

Absolutely! This is the place to gush about stories. 😁

You’re right—there are a lot of fun themes that pop up in the shifter genre. Family / pack dynamics are always intriguing and make these stories all the richer for readers, I agree. If you have any links to your writings, feel free to share them here.

I love shifter books! And I love many kinds. 😁

Wolves are obviously always a fun animal for these (though I prefer when the shift is at will rather than controlled by the moon). I love anything that really focuses on the aspects of pack and bond and family. The Green Creek Series by T. J. Klune does a fantastic job in that regard. They aren't romance heavy, but it is still there, and it includes found family elements as well!

I also love getting to see other animals represented, like bears and big cats. Shelley Grayson (and also her alternative pubbing name S. K. Grayson) have some good ones for that category.

And of course, there's dear old omegaverse. Honestly, the best I've read for this so far have been fanfiction (and I've written a few too) l. It's fun to play with concepts of hormones, instinct, mates, and mpreg.

And now I'm staring at my long rambly comment.... Thanks for giving me the opportunity to gush! 😁
