Hello, Hello, Book Monsters!
How’s everything going in your world today? Have you crossed off anything on our Summer Reading Challenge card yet? I have to admit I’m a little behind, but I aim to catch up. I’m actually immersed in a really good book right now in a sub-genre I’d been wanting to explore for forever but had a hard time getting into until now. (More on that in a future post, I promise!)
Before I go any further, I want to say welcome to all the new subscribers that have come onboard, recently. Thank you so much for joining our readers’ lair! I’m so happy to chat books with you! If you somehow missed my free novella offer, here’s the link.
Now, back to this book I’m reading. It has me wondering…
What is your favorite type of fantasy romance book? Fantasy is such a broad genre. It encompasses so many exciting ideas and settings. Which is exactly what I love about it, and I’m pretty adventurous about exploring a wide range of stories. But how about you? When settling in with a literary escape, do you tend to reach for the same trusted story setting, or are you inclined to bounce around, trying new story worlds of all different sorts? I mean, I’m really wondering what my Book Monsters enjoy most when it comes to taking a walk on the reading, wild side.
Whew! That was a stretch. I really had to do some keyboard gymnastics to work in that Tom Ellis gif. But it was worth it!

All this to say, I’ve put together a fun list of all the fantasy romance sub-genres I could think of. I love making lists. I find it a fun way to brainstorm and maybe it will give you some ideas for your next book adventure.

Check out these good looking books to add to your TBR:
The Shifter Company 417 series is all about sexy shifters and their lovely ladies. Firemen are already as sexy as can be but when you make a fireman a shifter, you’re pretty much made things as sexy as possible! The romance here is deep and the sex is very, very hot. If you like a bit of danger and suspense in your romance, you’ll love this series. Come for the sexy firemen but stay for the shifters! Although each of the tales in this series are start to finish standalone so you can read them in any order as you enjoy them all, be aware that some books may reveal HEA endings from previous books.
This collection includes:
- Desperate Wolf’s Carefree Beauty
- Proud Lion’s Shot at Love
- Tiger's Deadly Secret
- Lone Wolf's Raging Fire
- Brooding Bear's Stormy Romance
Don’t miss this smoking hot Paranormal Romance series that readers are already talking about.

What they want more than anything is a mate... now their hunt is on to find one.
Nobody really ever loved me.
A socially awkward girl that nobody really thought much of.
That all changed when I was rescued by a tribe of dragon shifters that lived up in the mountains.
I suppose it was my fault for being kidnapped in the first place, wandering alone at night, destined to be sold into slavery or worse.
Now I'm being courted, wooed, and loved by three of the most gorgeous, powerful dragons I've ever seen.
But they want something from me that I'm not sure I'm willing to give them.
Till next time, Monsters, I’m wishing you many, magical, reading adventures!

You know I love all things historical--the more ancient the better :-) Haven't read too many romances, but I'm open to suggestions!
Have you read the series of Transfusion? OMG!!!!! I have read the 12 book set not once but twice and may have to read them again. Stephanie Hudson is the author. I read the books out of order the 1st time. Afterlife is the first series. JC Anidnrijski and his Midnight series is excellent.
