With all the madness going around about the timeless words of children’s fantasy writer, Roald Dahl being tampered with, I thought I’d put up some of his more famous quotes. Some of these are from his books and some are his thoughts about reading and writing. I found them all lovely and a perfect fit for our Inspiration Den this Monday morning.
Enjoy, and I hope you have a fabulous week!

“Don’t gobblefunk around with words.” ~Roald Dahl
Just don’t. 😉
Lots and lots of them!
Such a wonderful reminder to guard ourselves against ugly thoughts, and strive to be lovely from the inside out.

Write on word champions! Hats off to my writing friends out there — be bold!🎩✍️✨
“No book ever ends / When it’s full of your friends” 🥰
So sweet and sentimental.
This has to be my favorite of the bunch. 💖
And, finally, some of Mr. Dahl’s thoughts on writing, very eloquently put. Thank you, sir, for your works.
You know, when as much time and thought goes into writing something as this, it ought to be as good as set in stone, I think. 🤔 Even if we look back and don’t like it very much, it’s still a record of history, a look into another’s mind, and understanding of the world they were living in, whenever that might have been. And in the looking back, we have this wonderful opportunity to open our perceptions, discuss, and grow forward. That’s true progress. What a wonderful world those who’ve gone before us have left within our grasp. If only we are courageous enough to reach out and take it. We could be in Mr. Dahl’s own words “unconquerable”.
As I like to say, Book Monsters:
Be fearless, be fun!
