Happy August, Book Monsters!
Squirrel! No, really, I saw a squirrel. Some great books. And giveaway winner announcement.
Hi, Monsters!
I wanted to write a quick post today in the lair to wish you a happy August. This whole season has just flown by for me. Has it been that way for you too? We’re already getting ready to go back to school at our house. I can’t believe it! I have some bitter sweet feelings about it, actually. I don’t know what it is, but I find myself wanting to hang onto summer longer this year. Maybe it has something to do with the late spring we had. If you read my May posts, you’ll recall it was snowing late into that month here in my neck of the woods. This cute, furry, friend we made at the park yesterday looks like it agrees with me on not wanting our warmer days to end.
We both thought that under the branches of these big pine trees seemed like the perfect spot for reading some fantasy romance books. Unfortunately, I didn’t have one with me at the time, and I was with some lovely company anyway (aside from the squirrel lol). But I do still have some great books to share with you.
First off:
Here is a new-to-me series and author. I haven’t read Avery Hanes’s Odinshield Berserkers books yet, but when I saw that they were Viking PNRs I had to add them to my TBR right away. Book one, Warrior Awakened, is already out and is on Kindle Unlimited. Warrior’s Salvation will be on Pre order soon. Have a look at their gorgeous covers:
For more info on the Odinshield Berserkers series, follow Avery Haynes on her website at averyhaynes.com.
I’m not sure I mentioned it before, but I finished the Gods of the Duat series by Alessa Thorn a couple weeks ago. It was great! You all know how I love my mythology romances, tee hee. These books are a spinoff from Thorne’s Court of the Underworld series that deals with the Greek gods. I haven’t read those yet, but Gods of the Duat was really fun. It’s set in modern day Egypt, is full of awesome characters, and the world building is really good. If you haven’t read them yet, definitely give them a try.
Before I sign off, I want to announce the Storm Tide ebook giveaway winner from my last newsletter post. Congratulations to Nova Lee! And thank you to everyone who’s read Storm Tide so far. Feedback is trickling in and its all been really good. If you’ve read Storm Tide, and you enjoyed Karr and Isdra’s story, I’d be so grateful if you left it a short review. I used to never leave reviews, myself, but now that I know how important they are to authors and that they help readers find great books, I always try to leave a few words on the book retailer’s site. It’s kind of fun to gush about something after I’ve just read it, actually.
If you haven’t read Storm Tide yet, here’s a little secret - it’s still on Amazon for just 99 cents! I haven’t changed the price on it yet, so be sure to grab your copy here.
That’s all for now, lairlings. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. If you take any pictures of woodland creatures romping around this month, send them my way. I’d love to see them! :) Till next time…
Stay in the magic and happy reading!
