And It All Ended In Snirt
My snirty week, a sincere apology, and a new shifter romance book comes in to save the day!
*Snirt - A light, wet snow mixed with dirt that doesn’t quite do the job of providing a pretty winter wonderland blanket to a surrounding area, yet mucks up one’s outdoor view and road conditions all the same.
Hello, Monsters!
Here’s hoping your week was snirt free. As you can tell, mine’s been a bit of a downhill slide toward a mucky sort of end. That might be too dramatic. It wasn’t all bad. I just didn’t get to do the writing I was hoping to and I’ve been battling some headaches, which are probably due to pressure changes from a thick band of snow clouds that slow-rolled their way up over the mountains. So far, they aren’t doing much besides lowering the temps and making things unsightly. But we’ll see how the weekend progresses. A little side-note, the first time I heard the term “snirt” was at my son’s holiday school performance some years back. The kids all sang a song that went into great detail about this particular weather phenomena. I have to say, it was really cute! He’s a teenager now, so the trip down memory lane makes the gloomy weather not all bad. How’s the weather where you’re at?
Do please comment, if you’re in the mood to chat here in the lair. I love hearing from my favorite book lovers! And that topic brings me to the apology I have to make. It came to my attention last week that my comments had been turned off for the past few posts. A hang-up that occurred because I failed to click the right button in settings before hitting send. Totally an operator fail on my part. *Face palm* I’m so sorry, Monsters. My whole goal for this space is to build community for lovers of this great sub-genre and get the chance to know each other better. It’s also my hope that it be a fun and light-filled spot in a world that is beset with heavy challenges and is, let’s face it, somewhat chaotic these days. Anyway, I regret that there was a blockade standing in the way of our interacting. If you ever have a problem reading or commenting on this newsletter, don’t hesitate to get a hold of me by replying to the email itself.
Now Live!
Moving on to some very fun news out of booklandia:
It is my pleasure to congratulate my good author friend, Miri Stone, on the release of her new shifter romance, Lonely Kitty!
Lonely Kitty: A Fated Mate Paranormal Motorcycle Club Romance (Knights of Destruction Book 1)
Elizabeth, resident tattoo artist at the disreputable Dragon’s Den, was brought up to believe her kind had no place in a crew. Tiger shifters were rogue predators and ridiculous notions like fated mates were relegated to childhood fantasies... about as likely as a Christmas miracle.
So when two rough and tumble bikers crash land into her life a few days before the holiday--claiming to be her mates and bringing with them a whole lot of trouble in the form of the notorious Vipers Motorcycle Club--Elizabeth is going to have to decide.
Is she ready to dig her claws in and fight for her own happily ever after with a crew and her mates? Or is Lady Fate just messing with her one last time before she hits the road?
Lonely Kitty is book one of the new paranormal motorcycle club series, Knights of Destruction, which features diverse relationships such as menage and why choose romances. This series is going to be full of steam, cussing, and the sort of dark and gritty themes often found in MC romance. Therefore, this story contains graphic content and violence, and is intended for a strictly mature audience (R18+ only please!).
Readers should know that this work was previously published as a much shorter holiday novella under the title "Mistletoe for Lonely Kitty" in the charity anthology Christmas Nibbles. It is now twice the length of the original work and, although the holiday themes are intact, the book now includes multiple character POVs and is set in the same world as the Phoenix Crew. Plenty of fun crossover adventures are planned between these two epic crews.
**I have it on good authority that this is the beginning of a planned series, so grab up your copy today! More info on Miri Stone and her books can be found on her brand new Substack.
I’m hoping to get a whimsical reading selection out to you next week, Monsters. The poll results from last week’s newsletter showed that most of you are in the mood for a winter fantasy romance tale. I’ve been gathering ideas and am excited to get to work on a flash fiction story for you with that theme in mind.
Finally, I saw this on the interwebs this week and thought it was brilliant. It really made me laugh, so I thought I’d share the link here. If you have munchkins, you know how hectic this time of year can get. Parents, tell me this isn’t accurate?! ;)
