An Impromptu Adventure

Hi Monsters!

This will be quick. I had a change of plans for my newsletter today. Originally, I was going to talk Halloween power couples, but eh, we’ll save that for next week. My kiddos were home for fall break this week, and the weather has been gorgeous, so we decided to go out and play as much as we could. Which means I haven’t set up the list for that post to my satisfaction yet. Don’t worry, though, it will be worth the wait! *laughs maniacally for no reason.*

Instead, here are some pretty shots from one of my most favorite Colorado spots — Castlewood Canyon. The scrub oak are really putting on a show right now and it was nice to get all the way down to the water.

This came toward the end of the hike as Pike’s Peak popped into view.

Great color and lots of water in Cherry Creek this year after a very rainy summer.

My son can’t get enough of these rock formations. We learned all about rhyolite. Don’t ask.

Paths like this with a tree canopy overhead always feel so cozy to me.

This is only one side of the park. Next time we go back, we plan to hike in from the second entrance and find the waterfall. The more adventures the better, right? ;)

Anyway, my Monsters, what have you been up to this past week? Any fun plans for the weekend? It’s been busy around here what with all the kid energy, so I haven’t managed a whole lot of writing. I did put out my first post of Sexy Villain here on Monsters and will put out another installment on Sunday. Other than that, I’m just enjoying the change of season before it gets cold, and gathering up ideas.
